What We Need:
1. Lots: Reasonable and acceptable building lots are hard to find in
Franklin County. Our local Habitat affiliate must be able to obtain
the lot and build a house on it for a minimal cost in order to provide
affordable homes for Habitat families. Therefore, lots need to be in
neighborhoods of homes of similar size.
Habitat for Humanity will need building sites so our affiliate can
provide safe, decent housing for families in need in our community.
Please help by passing on to us information regarding any sites you
believe might be appropriate for a Habitat house.
2. Financial contributions
3. Construction Supervision: It won't be long before we will be building
our first house. When that time comes, we will need one or more volunteers
capable of and willing to supervise the construction on an overall
project basis. The ideal volunteer would have experience supervising
residential construction and be willing to devote substantial time
to the effort. Please contact us if you would like more information
about this opportunity to serve.
4. Volunteers: Volunteers are the backbone of Habitat for Humanity.
Everything in this organization is done by volunteers, from working
with new homeowners, hammering nails, painting, feeding work crews,
fundraisers, etc.
We also need volunteers on committees, such as the following: development,
church relations, volunteer assistance, communications. What a great
and rewarding way to help families in need in our community, and to
meet new people, too!
5. Fundraisers: Habitat encourages organizations, churches, business
and youth groups to create their own form of fundraising with the funds
earmarked for Habitat of Franklin County. For more information, please
contact us.
