Our First Home
Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County chose for their first partner family the Young family of St. Clair, who helped Habitat volunteers build their first home. Mrs. Young said, "It has been a dream of ours forever to own a house for our girls to grow up in. I couldn't believe it when they came and told us. I couldn't stop crying." Several people within the organization helped the Youngs during and after their move into their new home, and the family support committee will work with the partner family in furnishing and maintaining the house. The committee will also assist the family in budgeting and financial matters.
