Functionally responsible for:

Design, construct all housing projects, provide leadership to volunteer groups and individuals, acquire and maintain tools, materials, equipment, fleet, and facilities used for construction activities. Coordinate with all other committees in implementing affiliate work, specifically, the Site Selection, Financial Management, Family Selection, Family Support, and Volunteer committees.

We build simple decent housing for least cost, using conventional residential construction materials and methods. The workforce includes skilled professionals, unskilled volunteers and groups, and the sweat equity of the partner family required by the partnership agreement. The houses contain all new materials fixtures and appliances and are designed with low maintenance and upkeep in mind. The houses comply with all applicable codes and standards. Construction practice is in accordance with a safety plan.


Volunteers are sought for:

Construction management

Project management (scheduling, funding)

Excavation, grading, foundations

Rough framing; Finish Carpentry

Plumbing, electrical, HVAC

Materials take-offs and estimating

Design (site adaptation, drawings production, etc)

Secure long-term gifts-in-kind agreements

Obtain skilled volunteers/contractors in concert with construction schedule
